Update: I did it!
So I attended the folkroom gig at The Queen's Head, watched some great artists, took lots of photos and a bit of video.
The folk room gig was excellent, they had a great mix of artists. Slow Wolf and Avert Francis were great, and She Makes War was absolutely wonderful as usual.
BTW If you're in the Bristol area tomorrow (Saturday 7th July 2012), She Makes War is playing at Ladyfest. I highly recommend going to see her performance, go and say hi afterwards too, she's lovely.
After the gig I headed back to St Pancras international to catch my train. I had a few minutes to kill so did a little editing at the station, but most of the editing happened on the train. I'd finished editing with about 15 minutes to spare, so decided to have a go at uploading my photos to Flickr.
By 1:11am my photos had uploaded, certainly a new record for me, I left the gig at 11:20pm, less than two hours later they were online!
I'm very impressed with the performance of the 2012 11" Air with i7 and 8GB RAM, it outperforms my 2011 i5 iMac when editing videos and photos, a large part of the performance difference is probably due to the SSD. I may have to consider cracking open my iMac to retrofit an SSD. :)

I managed to edit the videos too, they uploaded overnight. I haven't made them public yet as I like to get permission from the artists first when I can.
I've proven to myself that the Air is more than capable enough to edit photos and video, I'll be using it regularly from now on. It's small and light enough to carry with me everywhere.

I'm going to Folkroom at The King's Head near King's Cross tonight . It should be a great night, some interesting artists are playing and the wonderful She Makes War (Laura Kidd) is headlining.
If you're not aware of Laura's work, you really should head over to http://shemakeswar.com/look/videos/promos/ and take a look at some of her videos.
As some of you will know I love capturing gigs so as usual I'll be bringing my camera along tonight.
I've decided that this is the perfect opportunity to test out the editing capabilities of the 11" MacBook Air. My plan is to take photos (and maybe a little video) on my 550D, then at the end of the night I'll edit them using Aperture and Final Cut Pro X on the train home. My challenge to myself is to finish editing them and have them ready to upload by the time I reach my home station.
If this works everything should be uploaded by the time I wake up tomorrow morning.
I believe that the Air is up to the task, not sure if I am. Should be fun though. :)
I might even try to upload a few photos while at the station if I have some time to kill, so you might see some photos on Flickr by midnight.
